How to Install and Set Up Microsoft Teams on Mac

 Microsoft Teams video calling app is combined with video, voice, text chat and many more features like file and calendar sharing. Microsoft Teams is part of Office 365, so to access Teams, you’ll have to sign up for Office 365 service. Even if you’re using Mac, you can access Microsoft Teams. Download Microsoft Teams on Mac

  • Visit Microsoft.com and tap on the All Microsoft option.
  • Find Microsoft Teams and tap on it.
  • Press the Download for Desktop option.
  • Next, tap the Download Teams option.

While following the steps, make sure you’re installing the Microsoft Teams for Mac.

Once the Microsoft Team is downloaded, follow the steps to successfully install the PKG. file:

  • Find the downloaded Microsoft Teams file.
  • Run the file and press Continue to move further.
  • In the next tab, you’ll be notified about disk space the tool will consume.
  • Press Install to start installing the app.
  • Or if you want to change its installation drive, then press Change Install Location, and select your preferred drive before installation.
  • Enter the administrator password, and press Install Software.
  • The progress of the installation will appear on the screen.
  • Wait for a few minutes, and once the installation is finished, press Close.

Once the app successfully installed, launch it on your Mac.

Set Up Microsoft Teams on Mac

Just after opening the Teams app, you’ll be asked to log in with your Microsoft account. 

  • Enter your Microsoft account email and password and press Sign in.
  • In the main page of Microsoft Teams app, press the Settings icon at the top-right side of the display.

In the Settings tab, you’ll see the following options:

General: In the General tab, you’ll see start-up, language, and advanced options like themes. 

Notifications: Turn On/Off notifications that Teams apps show.

Privacy: Allow specific people and surveys while Do Not Disturb mode is turned on.

Calls: Configure call forwarding and voicemails using Calls option.

Devices: Set up the camera, speakers, microphone and other devices through Devices tab.

Microsoft Teams is a perfect competitive app of Zoom. What’s special about Teams is its privacy features.
